Weightlifting masters excel

Dino Van Rensburg from Kariega Weightlifting, Curvon Jacobs from Kouga Weightlifting and George Piet from Gqeberha Weightlifting recently competed at the South African Weightlifting masters championship in Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal.

Dino Van Rensburg won gold in the 67kg, 40-year-old category with a personal best of 175kg total, Curvon Jacobs won gold in the 81kg, 35-year-old category with a personal best of 160kg total and George Piet won gold in the 102kg, 45-year-old category with a 175kg total in both snatch and clean and jerk Olympic weightlifting disciplines.

Dino van Rensburg operates his weightlifting club in Winterhoek Park, Kariega, Curvon Jacobs in Arcadia in the Kouga, and George Piet in Hillside, Gqeberha.

These coaches not only coach youth weightlifters from the age of 8 years old but actively compete at their youthful age.

Boys and girls who are interested in Olympic weightlifting and those who wish to do strength and conditioning are invited to reach out to these formidable weightlifting coaches.
