EXCITEMENT is high as it is time for the launch of the first ever sporting summer fitness camp, Zeal-Fit-Community.
“Zeal-Fit-Community will embark on a mission in finding Uitenhage’s future sporting heroes at the camp to be held at CW Hendrickse Primary School, this coming weekend,” said Damian Zealand, president of Zeal-Fit-Community.
“We are also pleased to mention that Shoprite has come on board and pledged their assistance through a monetary donation to help ZFC host young athletes.”
In addition to donations in kind, previous sporting greats from the Uitenhage will be donating their time by presenting various workshops which will focus on sports management, motor skills transfer and training planning. These include Basil Massimila (director of development Nelson Mandela Bay Volleyball Association) as well as Jillian Zealand (néé Kayser) former South African volleyball representative.
“The main objective for this weekend is to pioneer and pave the way forward for Uitenhage’s sporting fraternity. So much so, that Uitenhage becomes synonymous with producing legends for the various sporting codes.
“We are excited and anxious to see the depths and proportions that this project has in store,” said Zealand.
The official launch of Zeal-Fit-Community will be tomorrow evening at 20:00 at CW Hendrickse Primary School in Uitenhage.
