A new president was inducted into The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South at a gala dinner held recently at the Uitenhage Golf Club.
The outgoing president, Dr. Dayalan Naidoo inducted Leo Doria into the presidency with the aid of the district governor, Gianna Doubell, and assistant governor Trevor Wells.
In his outgoing address, Dr. Naidoo spoke enthusiastically about how he had enjoyed his year in the chair, and was thrilled that the club had achieved so much good work in the community during his tenure, and also being able to respond rapidly with aid to emergencies in the town, as well as continuing to support established projects of upliftment for the poor and less fortunate within the community.
The new president, Leo Doria, who has been a member of the club for eight years, accepted the position with enthusiasm and vowed to lead the club forward with the same enthusiasm.
He felt sure that, with the support of the members and the wider community, the club would be able to continue forward and achieve as much or even more support for the needy, especially the youth of the town.
