TWELVE rescued animals appear on the first-ever glossy 2019 calender issued by the Uitenhage SPCA in an effort to raise much needed funds.
“Each of these dogs, cats and donkey featuring on the calender has been rescued by the Uitenhage SPCA. Most of them have been adopted and now live a happy life with owners who dearly love them,” said Deirdre Swift, manager of the Uitenhage SPCA.
“It is a decent good quality calender and the first time that we have done something like this. I actually for the last two years have been playing with the idea of having something like this, but somehow it did not realise.
“What sparked the idea is that a retail agency requested us to send them a calender, which we did not have. And then I thought you know what this is a good idea let’s do it!” said Swift.
Janine Heugh did the design and artwork whilst Down Town Print & Copy in Uitenhage did the printing.
“This seems to be a good start and maybe we can feature more Uitenhage SPCA rescues who found happy homes in our next edition of 2020!” said Swift.
The calender is available at R100 each from the Uitenhage SPCA office in Schonland Street.
