Prestige fellowship awarded to hospital CEO

THE prestige Rotary International award of a Paul Harris Fellowship was presented to Marilyn Klassen, chief executive officer of the Provincial Hospital in Uitenhage.


THE prestige Rotary International award of a Paul Harris Fellowship was presented to Marilyn Klassen, chief executive officer of the Provincial Hospital in Uitenhage.

Klassen, who is a member the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South, was awarded the honour, which is the highest that a club can confer on a member or to someone in the community.

“We applaud you for always having been a dedicated Rotarian.

“And for carrying out the Rotary motto of Service Above Self whilst constantly showing an overwhelming passion for the sick and poor,” said Dr Dayalan Naidoo, outgoing president of the Rotary Club of Uitenhage South.

Klassen said she was surprised, “But greatly honoured to have been presented with the fellowhip.

“I feel humbled that the club honoured me in such a way. What I do is my passion and comes naturally.”
