KARIEGA detectives are on the hunt for four suspects following the discovery of three bodies found on the Amanzi Road in Kariega on Saturday, December 9.
It is alleged that on the abovementioned date at approximately 16:10pm, police responded to a complaint on the Amanzi Estate just off the R75 towards Springs, Kariega. It is alleged a person who was en route to a farm, noticed the bodies of three men. Two men were lying on the road while the third was lying next to the road. All three men had sustained multiple injuries.
“Two men were identified by family members. It is alleged that the two men were kidnapped from Xundu Street, Govan Mbeki, KwaDwesi. The family alleged that four suspects took the two deceased and forced them into a white Ford bantam LDV and drove off. They were not seen again and the kidnapping was reported at SAPS Kwadwesi,” Colonel Priscilla Naidu of SAPS said.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Two of the deceased men were identified by the family as Yamkela Fatyi (21) and Ashley Blaauw(28). The third deceased, aged about 30 years old is yet to be identified by his family.
“A case of murder (3 counts) will be investigated in conjunction with the kidnapping. At this stage the motive and the suspects are unknown,” Naidu concluded.
