THE Rosedale Sector 2 Patrollers are growing in numbers and are serious about turning crime around in their residential areas.
These patrollers are walking in righteousness and are concerned about the crime, drug abuse and especially the involvement of young children in these activities.
In supporting their dedicated foot patrols, the Uitenhage CPF had identity badges made for each of the patrollers.
Chairperson of the Rosedale Sector 2 Patrollers, Godfrey Matabielie said, “We are really fed-up with the criminals in our areas.
“We see them, we know them. The police cannot be everywhere and we know that they do not have the manpower, therefore we have taken the decision to start to secure our own areas.
“What is really concerning is the number of children involved in crime. The other day we confronted a boy, only 8 years old, who robbed people and threatened them with a knife,” said Matabielie.
The patrollers invite residents to join them and to assist them in their fight against crime in Rosedale.
