THE time has arrived … who will be crowned the Buco Challenge winners … the team of “Mama” or “Die Bye”?
On Saturday rivals John Walton Secondary School (Mama) and Uitenhage High (Die Bye) will take on the rugby challenge at the Derrick Ferreira Stadium in Rosedale to determine who will be the 2018 champions.
Based on the last result, Uitenhage High must be favourites to clinch this prestige Buco-sponsored trophy. But “Die Bye” earlier spoiled “Mama’s” 45th anniversary party celebrations beating them on their home field!
This time around the match will be played at the famous field, with John Walton having home ground advantage and a massive and vocal support base behind them.
The home team will be going all out to prevent a repeat, whereby the visitors struck late with a try to secure a victory.
Not only will the learners of both schools support, but the parents will also be there in their numbers, to check whether today’s players can handle the derby at the same level as yesterday’s heroes.
Both schools’ stakeholders are very appreciative of the investment by Buco and it clearly shows that this business has the development of youth at heart.
The schools have committed themselves to this project and will be going all out to showcase their best talents and show Buco their investments were worth their while.
