THE second annual cycling endurance ride, in memory of the late Jayde Inggs who would have turned 33 years of age on November 22nd, will this year be held in Despatch.

Organised by the local non profit organisation Fuel on Wheels, the Let’s Live for Jayde 24 hour endurance ride will be held on Friday and Saturday 23rd & 24th November.

According to Johan Oosthuizen, founder member of Fuel on Wheels, the event will also be a fundraiser for the Uitenhage & District SPCA which is in dire need of funds.

“We would like to contribute towards animals, for which Jayde always had a special place in her heart,” said Oosthuizen.

“That is why this event is called Let’s Live for Jayde, to do the good that she so spontaneously did. We wish to honour her through this public participation event.”

The categories of participation in the 24 endurance ride are as follows: individual (R100/entry); team of 2 (R200/entry); team of 4 (R400/entry).

Casual cyclists & joggers welcome

Casual cyclists, joggers and walkers who would not like to do the endurance event are most welcome to join by completing a lap or two. They can contribute towards this worthy cause by donating a minimum of R10 plus pet food (remember the puppies and kittens), blankets or cleaning products.

Businesses’ support

Businesses are most welcome to join the event by putting up their banners, gazebos or displaying their products or services offered. This could be done for a donation of R500, which will go towards the funds raised for the Uitenhage SPCA.

On the day of the event there will be hotdogs, cold drinks and water for sale. The starting point of all the action is at 56 Boom Street, Despatch on Friday, November 23rd at 15:00.
