Gospel music lovers are in for treat this festive season, as Kariega’s own Noted Vocal Group recently released their much anticipated single, Ubonakala, featuring gospel artist and Joyous Celebration member, Siyakha Khitha.
After a few months of touring South Africa in sold out shows, the gospel group released their official single in early December, just in time for the end of the year.
Ubonakala, the isiXhosa word for “He is present”, restores hope in those who have lost it, encouraging everyone about the presence of God, even when it is not apparent. The song continues to detail the journey of a devout Christian, who decides to continue praising and serving God tirelessly.
The group said this release is an ode to all the people who have supported them and their music journey from the first of their two albums, “For us this is a thank -you to you guys for the love and support you’ve shown us this year, we hope the song will uplift you and bring hope and always remember that uThixo Ubonakala (God is seen present) even to those who have lost hope.”
Khitha, a gospel sensation from Johannesburg, encouraged her almost 100 000 Instagram followers to listen to the song, “When you get time please check out the song I got featured on by Noted VocalGroup. I promise you it will be worth your while,” she wrote.
