FUN galore awaits learners who will be attending a programme hosted by the Elim Holiday Club from 18 to 22 March in Uitenhage.

It will be the third consecutive year that the Club will host the programme for Grade 2 to 7 learners, to attend free of charge at the Elim Assembly of God church hall, 31 Albertyn Avenue.

Aphiwe Zinto (20) a former Uitenhage & Despatch Junior Town Council Mayor whilst at Muir College, nowadays a B.Ed. student at NMU, is the chairperson of the Club.

“We saw the need for learners in the community to attend a holiday club as most of them are bored and do not know what to do. It is a non-denominational programme and even the volunteers are from all over Uitenhage,” said Aphiwe.

“The vision of the Club is to connecting children to Jesus and connecting children to purpose in a fun and entertaining way.”

The presentations of the stories are creative, interactive and fun. Demonstrations will be through activities children can relate to.

“The entertainment part is very important because we have recognised that most of the children will remember the core message when it was presented in a way that attracts and keep their attention,” said Aphiwe.

The programme will be from 07:00 to 13:00 (snacks and light meal included) and culminate on Friday, March 22, 19:30 with a parents evening/kids banquet.

According to Melanie Pillay, marketer of Elim Holiday Club, they have promoted the programme at various local schools.

“We are looking forward to accommodate 300 learners,” said Pillay.
