THE Algoa Bay branch of the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA) invites the public to participate in its next Walk with a Purpose beach clean-up on Saturday from 09:30 to 10:30.

It will be held in the Bay starting from the beacon on Marine Drive at the intersection with Admiralty Way in Summerstrand.

This location is consistently prone to serious littering and will need frequent clean-ups to try to keep it in check. It would be good to stop as much of this litter as possible from finding its way into the ocean.

There is ample parking and volunteers are requested to please bring hats, sunscreen, water and gloves if possible. The society will provide litter bags.

The society’s next Know Your Bay talk at Bayworld will be held on Tuesday, March 24. The keynote speaker will be Dorelle Sapere from the Mandela Bay Development Agency, who will update the public with the plans for a brand new Bayworld.
