If you’re a local first responder or emergency worker on duty tomorrow, make sure to stop by Hyundai Uitenhage for a free surprise and a heartfelt thank you!

They will have a station set up outside from 10:00 to 14:00 where those in uniform – nurses, doctors, police officers, traffic officials, ambulance crew, firemen, security patrol agents – can collect a free coffee or tea, and a cupcake from the UD Express team who will also be in attendance.

They can also pop a balloon to win a small prize on the day and add their names to a box to win a lucky draw hamper at the end of the month.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has also been invited to set up a station for anyone willing to donate.

“This is to give a little back to the community and the people in uniform who work so hard and get very little recognition for it,” said Monique Gerber, sales executive at Hyundai Uitenhage.

“It’s completely free; they don’t need to pay anything. Unless they would like to buy a car!,” she quipped. “Sometimes even just a smile can make a difference. We can’t give them the world, but we can at least offer them a cup of coffee, a cupcake, a quick chat, a little prize just to say ‘Thank you, we see you, we appreciate you.’”

First responders can join them for coffee, cupcakes and prizes on Friday, February 16, from 10:00 to 14:00 at Hyundai Uitenhage, 249 Caledon Street.

And keep an eye on the AskmoniqueG Facebook page to see when they Hyundai Uitenhage starts their next project: SPCA run.
