BEING launched 5 metres into the air with a Bungy Bouncer is but one of the activities to enjoy during Sunday’s Uitenhage Market at Willow Dam.
These fun activities will be hosted by Gypsy Events which will attend the market day from 09:00 to 14:00 together with more than 170 stalls.
“This will be our fourth year as a family outdoor market at Willow Dam where we on average host about 120 stallholders,” said Terrence Gouws, organiser of the Uitenhage Market, a registered non-profit organisation.
“The market is a source of income for some stall holders. We have heard that there are stallholders who have put their children through school with the money made at the market. Others rely on the market as an income and way of making ends meet.”
Some of the new faces at the market include a young 12-year old who is selling goldfish, five new food stalls and the debut of Gypsy Events, who come from Randburg Show and will offer the young and daring the opportunity to be elevated 5 metres into the sky.
“The Uitenhage Market also take pride in cleaning the area surrounding Willow Dam before, during and after every market day. We do take extra consideration when it comes to littering and it is an environment friendly market,” said Gouws.
Entrance to the market is free of charge and DJ Sippy will be live on stage to keep the music pumping.
