UITENHAGE High School, for the past few years, has entered its boys’ U/16 and U/19 teams into the high school’s division of the Port Elizabeth Football League (PEFA) and this year they will do it with new flair!
Caltex on Caledon has sponsored the U/19 team with a brand new soccer kit which the players will wear proudly throughout the season.
Upcoming fixtures for the U/19 team include games against Victoria Park High School on April 11th and Walmer High School on April 25th with both games being played away from home.
The U/16 team will face tough opposition when they play Victoria Park High School on April 17th in an away game, where-after they will test themselves against Khumbulani High School at the Jubilee Park Fields in Uitenhage on May 8th.
“We want to acknowledge Caltex on Caledon’s role in supporting our school by going the extra mile to contribute towards its sporting activities,” said Sheldon Vermaak from Uitenhage High School.
“Besides being involved with soccer, Caltex on Caledon also supports the school in other ventures and we want to thank them for their continued involvement.”
Sport is an important aspect of school life and it is important to expose learners to extramural activities so they can maintain balanced and healthy lifestyles.
“It is only through community support that we as a school can realize our dreams and live out our potential. Uitenhage High School wants to urge our parents and all stakeholders to support our teams as they take on the best schools from Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage during the season ahead,” said Vermaak.
