ONE of the most exciting children’s aquathlons, the Spur IRONKIDS, proudly sponsored by Pritt, is set to once again exceed expectations.
Entries are now open. The popular children’s event takes place on Saturday, 6 April at McArthur’s Pool and Leisure Centre.
This aquathlon has become one of the most sought-after entries in the city with the event selling out at 1 000 children annually. The event, consists of a 100 metre swim and 1.2km run starting at McArthur’s Pool and Leisure Centre. It finishes at Hobie Beach seeing athletes aged between 6 and 13 along the same red carpet and finish line that the IRONMAN athletes will cross the next day.
“No times are taken, with the emphasis being on participation and enjoying a healthy, active lifestyle. Every child is made to feel like a winner simply by participating and finishing,” says Paul Wolff, IRONMAN South Africa Director of Operations.
Entries are R280 and close on 6 March, or whenever entries are sold out.
