BLACK Ink. Collective is looking for 6 emerging artists based in Nelson Mandela Bay who would like to learn new skills in printmaking, produce artworks in a collaborative studio setting and invest themselves in the learning of others.

Black Ink. Collective is a collective of South African printmakers, educators and artists who are committed to effecting change within local communities. They work on a completely voluntary basis and regard the enrichment of young and creative minds as the sole profit of this endeavour.

The workshops are free and consumable materials (such as paper, fabric, inks and stationery) will be provided by the Collective or any other donors supporting them. Selected artworks produced during the course of the programme will be put up for exhibition in Nelson Mandela Bay and possibly other venues in South Africa where the Collective might be invited to show.

The workshops will be instructed by Vulindlela Nyoni and Jessica Staple. They will take place on alternating Saturdays at either Art-EC, Art on Target or the Nelson Mandela University Visual Arts Department, between 09:00 and 13:00. The first workshop will commence on 28 July.

Only emerging artists that live and work in Nelson Mandela Bay may apply. The dealine for submissions is July 14th.
