THE first Biathlon League race of the season was largely an impressive turnout of athletes, beating the last three seasons’ first race numbers.

Vice-chairman of the EP Biathlon committee, Shaun Richter, puts this down to the fact that at the end of this season the Biathlon National Champs will be held in Port Elizabeth. Also with the recent Ironman 70.3

World Champs having been held in Port Elizabeth many young athletes see biathlon as means to start the journey to one day also end up taking part in such prestige events.

  • The next league event is on Saturday. For more details visit the website www.epbiathlon.co.za or email info@epbiathlon.co.za
