The Mandela Bay Baseball Association will be hosting the South African National Baseball Tournament where in the senior division, 10 teams will be vying for the title of SA baseball champs for 2019.
Participating teams will include WP Federation, WP Colts, Gauteng province, Gauteng Bears, KwaZulu-Natal, M-B Bay (old EP) and a team from Zimbabwe. The nationals will be held at Londt Park in Fern Glen from 22 – 26 March.
One of the Eastern Province baseball coaches, Denny Transell, says that with a selection of youth and experience in the PE team, they look forward to the tournament which will be held at their home grounds.
The following players have been selected to represent the Eastern Province at the nationals: D.Coetzer, D. le Roux, N. Hayward, J. Leppan, K. Grobler (captain), C. Brink, C. Dickson, C. Coetzee, H. Stander, J. Bakker, S. Field, G. Bailey, C. Quantoi, J. van Jaarsveld, T. Schade, W. Rautenbach, H. van Loggerenberg, T. Nienaber, C.van Dalen and R. Roelofse.
The coaching staff consists M. Johnson, B. Bezuidenhout and D. Transell.
