THE Eastern Cape Aquarium and Aquascaping Club will be hosting its first ever tropical aquarium expo on Saturday, March 30th, which comprises a fish show, aquascaping demonstrations, short courses and various hobby related stalls.
The fairly new club meets on a monthly basis to share their knowledge and experiences with regard to aquascaping, which is the art of creating an underwater garden with aquatic plants and decorations in a fish tank.
Aquascaping has evolved into an art form where the emphasis is on creating realistic natural underwater scenes such as mountains, jungles, waterfalls and even deserts.
At the expo chairperson Jan Calitz and vice-chair Venesh Pillay will have various demonstrations on aquascaping.
The show will be held at the Verkenner Primary school hall from 09:00 to 19:00. Entrance is free of charge.
