THE Reach for Recovery breast cancer support group in Uitenhage are looking for young breast cancer survivors, especially African ladies, who are willing to be trained and to be of service to their communities.

“These ladies have to be in remission. That means that they have finished all their breast cancer treatments and are living normal lives once again,” said Estelle Botha, chairlady of the Reach for Recovery breast cancer support group in Uitenhage.

The supprt group recently held a Survivors Tea, which was a huge success thanks to the support local businesses.

“We would like to thank everyone that availed themselves in helping us make it the success it was,” said Estelle.

Dr Cathryn Walton, Oncologist from CancerCare Port Elizabeth, was the guest speaker and informed the ladies about the facts and myths of breast cancer.

“To all our Reach for Recovery volunteers, thank you for availing yourselves throughout 2018. Some of you are survivors and some not, but your heart is in the right place reaching out to others who need our assistance and help.

“We want to wish everyone involved a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year and may your businesses grow from strength to strength,” said Estelle.
